Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have.
Currently, the health situation in the Busoga region is not appealing in any way. Many tropical diseases are widespread, yet we lack the medical resources to treat them. Several members are surviving on the edge of starvation, and many children have symptoms of malnutrition. However, this will no longer be how we lead our lives forever. Not anymore.
The future of Busoga’s health is bright and exciting. It’s a future that enables mass access to better nutrition and health services for everyone, especially low-income families.
Because of the poor prenatal and postnatal nutrition, disease, and other severe conditions that people face, many lives have been lost prematurely, but reliable solutions are in progress.
With focus, and the determination to drastically improve the entire region’s health, this problem will be consigned to the history books.
A disease-ravaged society with high mortality rates cannot invest in constructing such capital. Families often have more children to compensate for the projected loss in places where diseases are prevalent. Those families, however, are less equipped to invest sufficiently in their children’s abilities so that they can eventually contribute productively to the community.
Tomorrow’s Busoga is designed to invest in mass public education and encourage the restoration of the ecosystem we continue to ruin in our efforts to survive.
