While Africa is widely regarded as the world’s poorest continent, particularly Sub-Saharan Africa, and home to the world’s poorest countries, one region is more impoverished than any other: the Busoga region.
For several years now, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics has ranked the Busoga region as the poorest region in Uganda, alongside Karamoja.
To put it mildly, being considered the poorest of the poor is humbling.
We are Baino Social Impact. We care. We are concerned. We want to serve with excellence. We want to be a well-organised sponge that buffers from the shock of life’s realities. We want to be one of the most reliable sources of light that brightens the future, especially for children and families.
Caring for a community means being a resource. It means building stability. It means assisting in eradicating the most pressing problems.
Caring means listening and learning about the community’s needs. It means building trusting relationships and being a partner, especially in trying times.
The most pressing needs we would like to focus on are poverty, illiteracy and ill health.
We are firmly convinced that education is one of the most efficient and accessible tools to help us achieve our vision.
We need your support to get there.
Thank you.
